Also, they do blogging at home too. They post typing homework, essays and book reviews in their blog. In this class, they seem to face the screen of computers the most.

In speaking class, they sometimes use PowerPoint for presentation. They make slides of PowerPoint and share with their teacher. After that, they give presentations using iPad. In addition, they make movies in the class. These are modern activities to use iPad in class. Also, they use EnglishCentral at home. There are many kinds of topics in EnglishCentral such as famous speech, movies and conversations. They watch these and pronounce, so computers score to it. It is a fine tool.

In listening class, they watch DVDs of news programs using computers. They catch the words and write down on their textbook. After that, they make pairs and pronounce it or listen their classmates’ pronounce using microphones. It is active.

These are example in class activities. However, there are the others’ convenience tools too. Computers are outstanding for searching. They can search something in a very short time. Also, Gmail is a convenience tool on the internet.

In this way, people use many kinds of computer tools for learning. There are a lot of comfortable tools in computers, people can use effectively depend on how to use it.

Essay 2-01a: My Regular Place is...

I often go to Hikari-no-Mori which is a shopping mall. One of the reason is it is relatively near my home. I can go there about 15-20 minutes by car or about 10 minutes by train. Sometimes, I go there on my way home. In addition, there are many tenants in the shopping mall. I often buy my clothes and sometimes watch movies there.

When I go to Hikari-no-Mori, I go to KALDI at first. It is in first floor. I get tasting a cup of coffe and I shop there. The shop has a lot of imported meals foods. Also, the shop's composition is like western libraries, so it is fun to shop KALDI.

MAMAIKUKO is my favorite grocery store in first floor. The shop's goods are cute and girly. I like grocery goods, so I usually go there. I enjoy only window shopping at the shop. When I shop there, time goes by slowly. 

At second floor, I often go clothes shops. I usually go Slaw&w closet and ERG les Cepo. These are my favorite clothes shops at Hikari-no-Mori recently. Slaw&w closet's clothes are girly and casual. This shop's sense suits my taste! Sometimes, the shop sells clothes of which galaxy pattern. I like galaxy very much, so it is one of my favorite reason. In addition, salesclerks at this shop talk to me cheerfully. Although clothes' prices at this shop are a little expensive for me, I can't help buying. ERG les Cepo's clothes are casual, natural and simple. I like not only clothes at this shop too, but also shopper. This shop's shopper's design is fashionable and cute! It is one of the reason that I like this shop.

In addition, there is a bookstore "Kinokuniya" at second floor. There are a lot of books. When I want to buy some books, I almost go there. There are retrieval machines of books. If I look for books, thanks to the machine, I can find the books soon.

Also, there is a movie theater "TOHO CINEMAS" at second floor. Although I don't go to the movies very often, I like this movie theater the best. This movie theater is large and fine. I want to go there again.

Hikari-no-Mori is easy to go for me and there are many my favorite stores. Hikari-no-Mori is my favorite place!

Essay 1-03a: My Language Learning Story and Plans

Since I was born, I have learned some languages and many words. I have lived with Japanese words all the time. When I was young, the people around me taught some words. However, I was too young, so I couldn't say right such as “man-ma”. It means mother. After I entered elementary school, I learned kanji. I think that I learned a large number of kanji, mostly when I was an elementary school student. I studied it hardly. At my school, we used “kanji skill” which is a workbook of kanji and we had kanji tests of the workbook every week. We my classmates studied hard to get the high score. Since I was a third grade of the elementary school, I began to go to English conversation school. I continued to go to there until third grade of high school. In the beginning, I had been taught some greetings and easy words. After I entered junior high school, I studied English proficiency test using textbooks. Thanks to that, I could get used to English earlier than usual and I came to like English. Since I was a junior high school student, I learned Japanese classics. Although I didn’t think it is difficult as I was a junior high school student, it became to think it is difficult since high school. The reason is that I had to remember a lot of words’ meaning and Japanese particles. At the high school, we had to prepare lessons every class. However, thanks to that, I can understand better than the past. Now, I study English every day at the university. I became to be able to write a lot in English and read English newspaper a little. However, I’m not good at speak English, pronounce English and listen English. I think overcoming that will change me, so I want to make efforts.

In the future, I would like to get better English skills then. I want to go abroad once using my English fluency. In addition, I want to use English dairy. I don’t decide my dream clearly yet, but I want to get a job such relate to English. Now, I study teaching profession, so I have to get much better some English skills!

The members of the sophomore and over can form bands freely. However, they become the merit system. The reason is that freshmen have to form fixed bands, so they are certainly members of a band. The members of the sophomore and over should form bands or be asked to form a band with someone if they want to appear on stages. A person who has get-up-and-go, make efforts or have a good command will be able to form a lot of bands and appear on the stages many times. In addition, the club gives one more concert every month. The club has more chance to play music in public than the other music club. That is why the club has a good environment. Older members are really cool. Furthermore, many freshmen joined the club. Also, the club members are very kind people a lot. They have genuine enthusiasm for music. 7 music clubs have including rock music circle in this university. Rock, Swing, light music has clubroom in underground. Other circles have a clubroom in the clubroom building. There are events in music clubs, for example, training camp, Music festival, Dance party. Those events are pleasant. It can interchange with other music circles. Every music circle is doing their best in practice towards a concert or the live concert. Second, there are many good facilities at this university, for example, the library, bakery and student's dining hall. These are very convenient. Many students and teachers make use of them. The library is on the third floor. There are many books, computers, DVDs and so on. The space is that people can study quietly. There are many desks and the private room for study too. Computer is the first and second floor. Students often watch Internets and write report there. There are many kinds of DVDs, for example, Hollywood, Disney and Japanese movies. You can watch only or with friends. Also there are CDs. You listen to music in private space. There is not only quiet space, but also space for you can talk with your friends. At the first floor, there are spaces that they can chat, eat and drink. The room has computers, so there are not just people chatting with friends, but also people who are studying by using computers. They can relax in the room. Therefore, a lot of various students visit the library every day. Students of this university often make use the bakery or student's dining hall at lunchtime. There are many people at lunchtime. The bakery is many kinds of bread. It is good taste and low-priced. Bagel, pizza is popular among students. The new product is also often taken out. That’s why people do not get bored. In addition, users of the bakery are not just students of the university. Many high school students, parents and their young children buy some bread and eat there too. For this reason, the bakery sounds like fun every day. Student's dining hall is very cheap! There are Udon, curry, and katsudon and so on. Recommendation is a plat du jour. The price is only 250 yen with rice!! Taste is good too. There are many spaces for eating. So you can talk with friends, eat packed lunch there. Using also expect a college student is possible. The high school student and the housewife also actually use there. There is also convenience store called Lawson, so you are not troubled in eating. A long line is made in a register in lunchtime there, so going at the time cannot recommend you. But it is OK, except the time. This university has the substantial institution. There are many institutions in this university even if it removes what I explained. These will help your university life. So you could lead a pleasant university life.

I am Satoko. Please call me Satoko. I’m a sophomore of KGU. I’m from Japan and my hometown is Ohzu town of Kumamoto in Kyushu. My hometown is famous for sweet potatoes and HONDA which is a famous Japanese motorcycle and car maker. Furthermore, there are so many people of real warmth, so I like my hometown. I hope you will come to my hometown once. I want to know about thee place where you live. Please tell me various things about that.

After that, this is aspects of my life. I like eating but I don’t like seafood dishes so much. I’m might not be able to eat them up completely but I will try to eat all as much as possible. I like music very much too especially Japanese rock music. I want to know the music that you listen to. If you like music, please tell me about that. I’m glad if you like music.

It is hard for me to wake up in the mourning especially in the winter season because it is very cold in winter, so I don’t want to move around. Also, I’m often told I am easygoing, so I do my work in my way. Although I would like to spend a lot time with you, my host family, I want to make time for myself in a day too. My weak point is dealing with people especially with communication. I think I am shy and introverted. Because of that, if I go on a homestay, I am anxious to fix my attitude. I want to be a more sociable person.

Finally, I have plans when I go there. I hope to visit a lot of sightseeing spots and areas. Which sightseeing area would you recommend? I hope you can take me there. I want to eat delicious foods such as local foods there. Please tell me your recommended dishes. What’s more, as mentioned above, I hope to fix my attitude.
